April Hulme
Club Director & Head Trainer
April is the Club Director of Crown PSA and the inspiration behind our club’s name, often affectionately referred to as the “Queen of PSA in England.”
She has played a pivotal role in establishing and growing PSA in England, organising some of the country’s first PSA seminars, trials and decoy certification camps, and continues to be one of the driving forces behind the sport’s development.
As a competitor, April has titled multiple Belgian Malinois in PSA and has earned numerous High in Trial, High Obedience, High Owner Trained and High Owner Trained Club awards throughout her career. She has also represented the UK at the PSA National Championships in the USA, where her dog Axel finished 4th in Level 1 and received the Decoy’s Choice Dog award.
Away from the trial field, April has trained and coached numerous successful sport and working dogs, including dogs that have gone on to earn PSA titles under their handlers. Before founding Crown PSA, she owned and ran Cheshire Working Dog Club and now works full-time as a pet dog behaviourist and sport dog performance trainer.
